"We are a small and lonely human race/ Showing no sign of mastering solitude/ Out on this stony planet that we farm./ The most that we can do for one another/ Is let our blunders and our blind mischances/ Argue a certain brusque abrupt compassion./ We might as well be truthful.../" From "Stepping Backward" -- a poem by Adrienne Rich

Guardian Newspaper here in London today said the same f**king thing! augh!! said that he would choose Huckabee as his running mate to catch those Christian voters... said that he was the balance for Republicans, said that Hilary and Barack suddenly become extreme and too diverse standing beside McCain..... oh no, no, no... and John Edwards just stepped out.. oh no, oh no...
sad but true. you know, after the 2004 election, john mccain is about as optimistic as i can get about american politics.
