it's official
I'm a lawyer.
...more to come.
...more to come.
"We are a small and lonely human race/ Showing no sign of mastering solitude/ Out on this stony planet that we farm./ The most that we can do for one another/ Is let our blunders and our blind mischances/ Argue a certain brusque abrupt compassion./ We might as well be truthful.../" From "Stepping Backward" -- a poem by Adrienne Rich

Congratulations!
For me, it was a bizarre and magical experience, impossible to describe unless you'd done it before -- kind of like getting married was, now that I think about it.
Congrats, and welcome to the club!
Awesome. Congrats!
Woohoo! Now I finally have someone to call when I get nabbed by the fuzz in the Pacific Northwest! Congratulations!
So, when does your propensity for lying kick in? haha Congrats
thanks everyone!! you guys are awesome.
and as for YOU melinda... *sigh* my "propensity for lying"??? lawyers are so misunderstood. do you know that our ethical rules prohibit us from lying AT ALL, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES?? what other profession requires it's members not to lie at all for any reason? there isn't one.
yet lawyers all get a bad rap, just because we can make a straight-faced argument about what the definition of the word "is" is. it's just sad.
